Attention Residents of Hancock County, including the City of Bay St. Louis, the City of Diamondhead, and the City of Waveland:
Please read below concerning the possibility of launching a subscription recycling program for the City of Bay St. Louis, the City of Diamondhead and the City of Waveland. The program does not include unincorporated areas of Hancock County.
We will need to have a minimum of 1,500 residents, inside the city limits of the City of Bay St. Louis, the City of Diamondhead, and the City of Waveland, sign up for the program by March 1st, 2024 before the recycling program would be considered to move forward.
If the minimum of 1,500 residents do sign up by March 1st, 2024, the earliest the program would launch would be July 1, 2024 depending on the availability of equipment.
The service will be $33 per month per resident. Residents will be billed directly from Coastal Environmental Services.
The first year of service must be paid for in full up front.
There must be a minimum of 1,500 residents always participating in the program for the program to continue. If residents cancel and we fall below the minimum threshold, the program will have to be discontinued.
One 64-gallon cart will be provided to the residents that sign up for the program. The cart is the property of Coastal Environmental Services. The cart will be a different color from the 95-gallon cart used for garbage. Only recyclables should be put in 64-gallon cart. Carts containing unacceptable/contaminated material will not be serviced.
All recyclables will have to be in cart as this will be a CART CONTENT ONLY recycling program. Cardboard will need to be broken down and placed in cart(s).
